Troy Post 43 Legends wins 3-0 in the Veterans Appreciation Tournament

The Troy American Legion Post 43 Legends baseball team has made an impressive start to the Veterans Appreciation Tournament and has won all three opening matches held at Duke Park. The Legends got off to a flying start by winning two games on Friday and one on Saturday. Their final match was scheduled to take place on Sunday afternoon with the championship game also being held on Sunday evening.

Six-run first inning sets Troy Post 43 Legends in motion

The Troy Post 43 Legends started the game on Saturday against the RLE Expos with an impressive six-run first inning that established their dominance in the game. Connor Price began the inning with a double and Jaxon Hill scored him by reaching on a throwing error by the Expos. A single by Zander Crouch loaded the bases after Owen Harlamert walked. Sam Ludlow’s fielder’s choice scored another run, and Jacob Lucas completed the rally with a three-run homer over the left-field fence. After the Expos narrowed the score to 6-3, Troy finished the game with five runs in the fourth inning. Price had a RBI single, Kelley walked to score a run with bases-loaded and Harlamert had a fielder’s choice for another RBI. Hill scored a run on a wild pitch, and Ludlow wrapped up the game with a RBI single to win the match 11-3. Price was 2-for-3 with a double, while Lucas was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Kelley and Ludlow contributed two RBIs each, and Crouch performed well by being 2-for-3. Gabe White and Crouch combined on a three-hitter, striking out three, walking five, and hitting two batters.

Troy Post 43 Legends wins 11-3 against TBD

Troy Legends opened the Veterans Appreciation Tournament with an impressive 11-3 victory against TBD. The Legends trailed 2-0 initially, but they made a comeback in the home first by scoring four runs. Owen Harlamert had a RBI double and Zach Crouch and Jacob Lucas followed with RBI singles, while Sam Ludlow scored a run on a wild pitch. Troy added five more runs in the third inning to go up by 9-3. Lucas and Michael Till had RBI singles and Connor Price was hit by a pitch with bases loaded to score a run. Jaxon Hill added a two-run single. Troy scored the remaining two runs in the fifth inning. Gabe White had a sacrifice fly to score Peyton Offenbacher, who had doubled. Kale Francis scored on a wild pitch. Hill was the best performer for the team with 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Crouch was 2-for-3, and Lucas contributed with 2-for-3 and two RBIs. Sam Ludlow also had a double. Nick May and Anderson Mohler combined on a six-hitter, striking out eight, and walking one.

Troy Post 43 Legends wins 13-3 against Knights Post 171 Jr.

Troy Post 43 Legends continued their impressive winning streak by defeating Knights Post 171 Jr. by 13-3 on Friday. The Legends took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Michael Till placed a bunt, and a throwing error allowed two runs to score. The Legends extended the lead to 7-0 in the second inning. Aaron Bostic had a RBI single, and when Peyton Offenbacher’s fly ball was misplayed, two runs scored. Till added a two-run single to the tally. Troy’s lead increased further by 8-2 after three innings after Peyton Offenbacher made a sacrifice fly. The Legends went on to score five more runs in the fourth inning to take a 13-2 lead before giving up one run in the fifth. Crouch and Matt Subler contributed to the runs by having RBIs on fielder’s choices, and Dylan Arthur added a RBI double. Arthur would score on a wild pitch, and Peyton Offenbacher had a RBI single. Brayden Offenbacher batted 2-for-3 scoring three runs, and Till added two RBIs. Peyton Offenbacher was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Wes Nidzgorski and Arthur combined on a two-hitter, striking out eleven and walking one.
