TICKETS are now on sale for the 50th edition of the Glenfiddich Piping Championship on Saturday, October 28, at Blair Castle, Perthshire. The event will be held in the castle’s lavish Victorian ballroom and will feature ten of the world’s greatest pipers who will compete in the Piobaireachd and March, Strathspey and Reel disciplines to determine an overall winner. The competitors, who will be announced in September, will showcase their talent and skill in this highly respected competition.

The Glenfiddich Piping Championship, established in 1974, is a celebration of the rich heritage and artistry of Scottish bagpipes. It is run by the National Piping Centre, with funding from the William Grant Foundation. Over the past five decades, the championship has seen legendary competitors and winners who have showcased the very best in this field. Last year’s winner of the inaugural Glenfiddich trophy was Willie McCallum, a nine-time winner and consultant for McCallum Bagpipes from Kintyre’s Campbeltown. McCallum’s victory was a testament to his exceptional skill and dedication to the art of piping.

With limited availability at the show on the day, it is encouraged to purchase tickets online in advance. Tickets can be bought at a rate of £20 per person or £15 for concessions. In addition to welcoming a live audience, the competition will also be streamed online for worldwide viewers, accessible for £15, and will be available for seven days after the competition ends. This global access allows fans of bagpipe music to experience the championship from the comfort of their own homes.

In-person audience members will receive a complimentary program upon entry, and a commemorative booklet chronicling the history of the competition will be available for purchase at £5. These keepsakes serve as lasting mementos of this special milestone in the Glenfiddich Piping Championship’s history and will undoubtedly be cherished by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
