Advice for Ticket Holders

If you’re a ticket holder, make sure to bring your tickets along with your booking confirmation and the debit or credit card used for the purchase. Additionally, you must carry a valid photo ID matching the name on the booking confirmation. Failure to present these items will result in refusal of admission to the event.

If you have a pitch standing ticket, arrive early, as there will be increased security measures in place. Due to security reasons, it is imperative that event-goers do not carry any banned items with them, including outside food and drink, glasses, and bottles. Security personnel will carry out searches of bags and people’s belongings to ensure that no prohibited items are taken inside the venue.

Metro Closures

On Friday, June 9, St. James’ Park will be closed from 8:00 pm onwards. The Monument Platform 4 (to St. James) will have an ‘exit only’ restriction in place from 8:00 pm. Moreover, at Haymarket, there will be an ‘exit only’ rule in place all day, i.e., no entry will be allowed into the station. Trains will run through closed stations and platforms without stopping.

On Saturday, June 10, some stations will be closed early to assist with crowd control, while other stations will be open for customers leaving the station only (no entry). St. James’ Station will be closed from 8:00 pm onwards. The Monument Platform 1 (towards Heworth) will be shut from 10 pm, while Monument Platform 2 (towards South Gosforth) will close at the same time. Monument Platform 3 (towards Wallsend) will remain open for travel towards Whitley Bay via Wallsend. Furthermore, Manors will close from 10 pm, and Jesmond will shut at the same time. At Haymarket, the ‘exit only’ rule will remain in place the whole day, and at Central Station, there will be an ‘exit only’ rule from 10 pm onwards.

Editorial Perspective

The much-awaited performance by Sam Fender at St. James’ Park has created a buzz among music fans near and far. The stage times and support acts have been announced, and with the gig expected to host a massive crowd of over 100,000 people, fans need to take note of the ticket advice and the security and entry rules. No person shall be allowed inside the venue without following the security rules, and any breach of the rules may result in refusal of admission or removal from the show. The Metro closures also need to be carefully noted by ticket holders who intend to use the service to reach the venue.
